SOMETHING THERE IS ABOUT COME WRITERS AND CRITICS:

'THE BOB DYLAN PAPER SITE': what does that mean and what are the restrictions?
The Books section presents all known items published on Bob Dylan worldwide, with all their editions, sorted by language. A list of titles and authors is presented on each 'language page', from which you can, by a click, get full details and large scans of every item.
The * asterisked books are not entirely devoted to Bob Dylan, but have enough about him inside to deserve a room in a Bob Dylan books collection, or interest the Dylan fan.
The pre-publication covers do not really exist; they are only shown here to illustrate the life of the book, especially when the pre-cover was very different from the published edition: sometimes even the author's name was wrong!...
The Magazines section shows all known front cover stories worldwide, entirely or partially dedicated to Bob Dylan.
The 14 October 2016 Nobel Prize of Literature announcement had such a massive press coverage that it has a special section, see the link on top of the Magazines list.
The Fanzines page is as complete as possible, so are the Programmes and Songbooks sections.
The Odds & Ends part gathers all that does not fit in the precedent categories, except for the Dylan ticket stubs, handbills and posters, and the Dylan postcards: though obviously made of paper, they are not here because they have their own dedicated sites.

The LAST THREE MONTHS UPDATES on CW&C are noted beside each item:
                                         = January 2019,
                                         = February 2019,
                                         = March 2019.
So to know what has been added on the website during one of these last three months, just type the requested date [mmyy] in the Search.

IMAGES: When there is only one picture on a page, the large size (750 pixels high) is displayed. When there are several items, in order to keep a unity on the page, they are presented as 300 pixels high images, most of them enlargeable by a click to a 750 pixels high size.

This is version #2 of the website, if we forget the sad failure described below. It would not have been possible without the help and advices of John Baldwin and Peter Oudejans.
2.0 -Large scans where available on the whole site. Books section: list of books on the language pages,
2.1 -Books section: individual pages created for each title,
2.2 -Books section: shortened lists of titles for each language, with links to the individual pages.

STEALING...

This is not a remake of Odysseus and the Cyclop, but could be called 'How "Nobody" stole my work':

In July 2016 I received a mail from the webmaster* of a site devoted to Dylan covers (songs), who had added a 'Magazine Covers' leg to his site, as for him they were 'also covers'.
He pretended to have just discovered the existence of Come Writers And Critics, though some similarities between the 2 sites were very suspect to me. As a professional webdesigner (more than a Dylan-concerned person), he offered me to help turn CW&C into a database and what he called 'a more modern site'. It was a really hard work - that I was quite reluctant to start - as every information of the original site had to be rewritten in the new one. But he was persuasive and I accepted. His help was offered for free. I thought we would build together a site that would belong to both of us, he being in charge of the display, me of the content. A kind of perfect team.

It took more than 3 months to make the job, and in November 2016, the new site was online.
As the navigation was very slow, he suggested to move it to HIS server: I trusted him and accepted... This was a BIG mistake, because by doing so, I was potentially losing the control on my work: I was 'invited' in a server, with all the risks of such a situation.
When the site was almost finished, I was asked in a VERY insistent way to 'refund' in time of work for his site, or money, what he had spent on CW&C.
This I could not do: I helped as I could, but it was never enough, and I had no time to lose in adding useless walls to an already labyrinthic site.

On January 30th 2017, 3 months of work were lost in 1 second when the person who "offered his free help" locked me out of the site we had built together: he removed all my codes and passwords so that I had no more access to the administration to make the updates...

I was very shocked by that ridiculous conflict; I really thought we were a team as it was initially supposed to be. I just discovered a dismissive, self-satisfied, perverse and aggressive person, who finally just stole the whole MAGAZINES section ('other kind of covers, you know'), that is: he shamelessly published elsewhere my scans and comments without even mentioning my name -with the slow motion display that characterizes his databases-, and NEVER made an update since January 2017!

So stay here if you want a fast reacting site, first hand updated information, and a webmaster who knows what he is talking about.

It also must be noted that the core of  the stealer's first site, about cover versions of Bob Dylan songs, is not his own work either, but a recuperation of late Dave Plantus's: the guy knows how to build a website, but it is then much easier for him to feed it with other people's work!
The nickname he uses is 'Nobody': that is quite well chosen, as that is exactly what he is.

MANY thanks to the friends who, aware of the situation, offered me their help during the troubled period and to all those who stayed faithful to the genuine site and sent me messages of sympathy.

*I did not want to give his name, but as mine appeared  in the newsletter he sent, I am talking of Dick (no joke!) Verschuur.

LAST NEWS: in February 2019 Mr Verschuur removed all his Bob Dylan websites from the Internet.

NEW MORNING!

But the page was quickly turned.

CW&C has been my hobby for more than 20 years, I gladly give it a lot of my time, do not earn any money with it: it could not become a source of problems and stress for me. As the owner of the domain's name, I immediately put the 'old' CW&C on line again. After some more months of work, it was completely rebuilt, upgraded and offers now a new display, large images and much more information.

What you will also find here and nowhere else is a clear classification, the possibility to select items (copy/paste) and print for your own use, the sight in a glimpse of all the covers in a category (all books of a specific country, all the covers of a magazine, etc...). CW&C is daily updated, the navigation here is easy and fast (not like on the pirate site!), everything is clear, and the webmaster here is a collector for decennies, well known in the Dylan community!

Thank you all for your help, support, and advices.
