BOB DYLAN - SANTANA EUROPE 1984
In the late spring of 1984 Bob Dylan set out on a twenty-seven date European tour, starting in Verona (Italy) on May 28, and ending in Slane (Ireland) on 8 July.
During this Tour, Bob Dylan played some of the biggest and best known European music venues in 13 countries, including Ullevi Stadion in Gothenburg, Sweden, St. James Park in Newcastle, England, Wembley Stadium in London, England and Slane Castle in County Meath, Ireland.
His band included ex-Rolling Stone Mick Taylor on guitar, ex-Faces' keyboard player Ian McLagan, drummer Colin Allen, bassist Greg Sutton
Dylan was joined by several major musicians on the tour including Carlos Santana (all concerts), Joan Baez (Hamburg, Munich and Copenhagen), Hugues Aufray (Paris and Grenoble), Van Morrison (Paris, London and County Meath), Eric Clapton (London), Chrissie Hynde (London), Bono (County Meath), Leslie Dowdall (County Meath) and Steve Wickham (County Meath).
The tickets, handbills and posters of the tour can be seen here.
It is to be noted, as Ian Woodward does, that the 28-page programme "was not produced before the tour started but was printed during the course of the tour: we know this because it contains photographs taken at one of the Verona shows, maybe both. Indeed, one of those photos (page 4) is captioned Verona 1984.
The programme was printed in the U.K. and additional copies could be bought from an address in London".
There were two different covers, both with the same content inside:
Cover # 1
Cover #2
