       By Robert Shelton who became Bob Dylan's friend, champion, and biographer. NO DIRECTION HOME took 20 years to complete. It was first published in 1986, and updated in 2011 when a new edition was published to coincide with both Bob Dylan's 70th birthday and his tour of Australia in April. That new edition includes original parts of the manuscript not originally included, an updated discography, bibliography and new footnotes. This is the most comprehensive biography ever written about Bob Dylan, a high quality edition and a reference book.

      The book has been translated into Chinese, Czech, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Portuguese.

      In 2021, to coincide with Dylan’s 80th birthday, a revised illustrated edition is published; the subtitle 'THE LIFE AND MUSIC OF BOB DYLAN' has been dropped.
