ROLLING STONE, Japan
This is the Japanese incarnation of the United States' ROLLING STONE.
There are so far 4 versions of the Japanese version of ROLLING STONE:
In September 1973, the first Japanese version was published by ROLLING STONE Japan. This edition, first published by Shigeichi Kuwabara was discontinued after about three years.
In April 2007, after more than 30 years, the second Japanese edition of ROLLING STONE was published by ILM (International Luxury Media Inc.). It was released as a monthly magazine with the catchphrase, "You can't help but buy it. Reading it is cool in itself. A new lifestyle magazine for men in their 20s that combines music, fashion, and culture and is full of intellectual curiosity." The editor and publisher was Kiyohiko Okubo.
The third Japanese version of ROLLING STONE was relaunched from the July 2011 issue. Published by Power to the People Co., Ltd. and Seven & i Publishing, focusing on Japanese artists, idols, and talents, it also publishes translated articles from the home American version and other countries' versions.
From the issue released on December 25, 2017, it has been renewed as the fourth Japanese version of ROLLING STONE (titled ROLLING STONE JAPAN) and is published as a quarterly magazine by CCC Music Lab Co., Ltd.
