IL RESTO DEL CARLINO is an Italian daily newspaper, one of the oldest still in existence. Founded in 1885, it is the symbolic newspaper of Bologna and the first daily newspaper in terms of circulation in Emilia-Romagna and Marche, as well as the seventh most widely distributed daily newspaper in Italy. Between 1945 and 1953 the newspaper was called Giornale dell'Emilia.
Together with La Nazione of Florence , Il Giorno of Milan and Il Telegrafo of Livorno , it is part of the network that bears the name of QN Quotidiano Nazionale and is published by Editoriale Nazionale srl (Monrif group ).
