IN-BEAT was a monthly magazine from Minneapolis on glossy paper stock with news and features on American and British rock and soul acts and the local Twin Cities scene.
This September 1966 issue includes Part One of a Bob Dylan interview by Paul Jay Robbins. There are also articles on Junior Walker, the Beatles (and John Lennon’s statement “We’re more popular food than Jesus now”), local band The Delcounts, disc jockey Jimmy Reed, local recording studios, Mod fashion, Bobbies ballroom, beauty tips, and a spoof piece, “The New Improved Jook Savages,” plus hit record charts, addresses of fan clubs and stars, local high school news, club & coffeehouse listings, ads, and lots of photos.
