LE MATIN was a daily newspaper in French-speaking Belgium. its editorial line was of the type “left-wing pluralist”.
It was born in 1998 from the merger of the newspapers LA WALLONIE, JOURNAL ET INDÉPENDANCE and LE PEUPLE. Its headquarters were located on rue de la Régence in Liège 2.
It closed its doors in March 2001, after attempts to be taken over by the French group Hersant, then the Italian group Poligrafici Editoriale.
