南方窗 (WINDOW OF THE SOUTH),
People's Republic Of China
南方窗 has a less-flashy design than other news weeklies, and its articles also tend to be more serious. It regularly features somewhat cerebral articles on religion and sociology.
"Southern Window" is often used as the English name of this magazine when it's mentioned in the western press. Because this gives the impression that it belongs to the Southern Media Group, Danwei used to call it "South Wind View," after a name found on a pirated PDF copy of the magazine. The editorial offices use "Window of the South" internally as an English name, so we now follow that practice.
